Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Planning and Performance Team. The team is responsible for planning and the development of MI across the product range, liaising closely with the senior team in the production of key reports.

Finance Department


Finance is an essential function providing a wide range of financial support to the business. The Finance Department comprises c50 FTE structured around four key functions namely, Financial Control, Operational & Financial Accounting, Commercial Finance and Planning & Performance Analysis.  The Planning and Performance Analysis team currently comprises 9 FTE, with further resource provided by the Group's offshore finance team.

The Roles

An opportunity has arisen within the Planning and Performance Team.  The team is responsible for planning and the development of MI across the product range, liaising closely with the senior team in the production of key reports.

One of these roles relies more on systems expertise to drive the development and improvement of MI.  The second is more focused on co-ordination and production of key Board reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, which will require sound understanding of M&S Money's product range in order to credibly communicate business performance.


Essential Skills/Experience (Please request a role profile for full details)

  • Qualified or finalist accountant with evidence of high performance in relevant roles and consistent success in career to date.
  • Able to operate accurately within demanding deadlines.
  • Strong analytical capability.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Ability to influence and challenge.
  • Advanced Business Objects user / Other database systems.
  • Experience of SQL / VBA - useful for systems focused role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In depth understanding and practical experience of Excel.
