Job Description

The Team

 

¦ We are looking for an outstanding, experienced corporate treasury specialist to join the rapidly growing Corporate Treasury Services team within KPMG's Corporates UK Advisory unit. The team has ambitious targets for 2008 and is looking to grow from 80 to 120 staff during the year

¦ The team works with leading businesses to advise them on Group Treasury strategy, Value from efficiency in the treasury function, Value from supporting decision taking, Value from Merger and Acquisition integration in treasury, Value from regulation and internal controls and Value from treasury function recovery.

 

Core personal attributes

¦ Driven individuals looking to work in an advisory team that will grow significantly over the next few years
¦ Has a degree and strong A-levels

¦ MCT, AMCT, MBA, CIMA or ACA fully qualified or equivalent (if not currently studying, willing and able to qualify)

¦ Solid Corporate Treasury experience

¦ Is able to demonstrate project based skills relevant to our solution set

¦ Has experience relevant to the Treasury solution set

¦ Experience in top tier international professional services firm OR experience from a recognised training scheme within brand name companies in the sectors below

¦ Experience in, but not limited to, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, utilities, mining, telecommunications and financial services industries

¦ We are also looking for experience in project delivery and management

¦ Flexibility to travel and a "can-do" attitude is required

The opportunities and responsibilities

We are looking for candidates with strong analytical, strategic and commercial experience who would like to apply their skills in a dynamic, commercial environment. The responsibilities we would expect a Principal Advisor grade staff member to take on include:

  • To assume full responsibility for medium sized engagements or elements of large engagements reporting to a partner or director.
  • Project leadership on multi-work stream programmes and/or leader for large content workstreams.
  • Directing and monitoring the work of a team of advisors and researchers.
  • Operating as an effective team manager, team builder, coach, and mentor.
  • Effective delegation of work packages to more junior team members whilst retaining control over quality of outputs.
  • Management and contribution to the development of junior staff.
  • Actively manage the client interface and take responsibility for delivery and fulfillment of projects.
  • Presenting to clients/targets in formal situations.
  • Lead business development initiatives including bid proposal and contract/commercial management and building or maintaining clients.
