British Gas Residential (BGR) forms an integral part of the Centrica business with revenues of £6.5Bn, 16 million energy accounts and over 9000 staff. This Financial Controller - Credit & Debt vacancy has arisen through the Transformation of British Gas. The broad objective is to provide high quality performance management and decision support to the Head of Debt and Cash and to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) BGR.
  
 
Financial Controller - Credit & Debt (ACA, CPA, ACMA, ACCA) - The Vacancy:

• Develop, deliver and manage transparent financial performance reporting for both debt and cash. These should get to the root cause of developments within business segments and have a robust nature to be used for real executive level decision making.
• Drive, lead and manage the planning and forecasting processes. This includes the three year planning process; working with the Head of Debt and Cash to drive better efficiencies for the function; and working with the COO to produce optimised investment plans and forecasts.
• Broad support for business decision making. Work with the Head of Debt and Cash and the COO on major decisions. Ensure debt initiatives are tracked and reported. Ensure investment approval and prioritisation processes produce optimal investment decisions.
• Manage, lead, mentor and develop four direct reports with a total team of 18. Become a Senior Leadership figure within BGR Finance (and across the Group) driving people development across the whole business.

  
Financial Controller - Credit & Debt (ACA, CPA, ACMA, ACCA) - The Person:

• A qualified accountant with a globally recognised accountancy body (ACA, CPA, CA, ACMA or ACCA).
• Proven track record of senior financial management and business analysis experience within major PLC; Fortune 500; and/or major Blue Chip corporations (ideally from Financial Services or Banking or Transactional business).
• Demonstrate an abundance amount of drive and results focus to deliver and exceed targets; as well as possessing continual successes throughout their corporate career.
• Proven successes of developing insightful reporting and analysis to use for major corporate decision making (within a complex multi-site business).
• Experience of building outstanding business relationships across a corporate business; demonstrating the ability to really influence decisions and really drive change through the company.
• Demonstrated adding real commercial value to businesses throughout your career.
• Proven success of coaching, mentoring and managing staff in a complex people business.
