Job Purpose:

·         To take responsibility for providing UK VAT advice to a variety of clients ·         To prepare, on a timely basis, the VAT returns for the whole of the UK banking operations·         To ensure that all VAT processes, procedures and systems are robust and efficient

Specific Duties:

·         Prepare the VAT returns for the UK VAT group·         To provide accurate and timely VAT advice to front-office colleagues, other members of the London tax team and the tax departments in European locations·         Assess critically current VAT procedures, systems and processes and refine these to optimise the Group's UK VAT position ·         To monitor, amend and resubmit the Group's partial exemption method as required·         To pass the necessary VAT accounting entries and monitor and control the general ledger VAT accounts

Experience Required:

·         Expert knowledge of UK VAT·         Knowledge and experience of VAT issues associated with partially exempt entities is desirable·         University degree·         ACA and/or CTA qualification is required·         UK VAT experience, either with a large corporate or accounting firm /banking background is advantageous·         Excellent communication and time management skills

Salary:
