Job Description

Due to recent growth, our client seeks an experienced Pensions Accountant to join this Financial Services organisation based in central Reading. Duties and responsibilities:
·Preparation of Financial Statements and Accounts for a client portfolio of occupational pension schemes
·Liaise with all parties including account managers and auditors to ensure timetables are agreed and deadlines met for Accounts and HMRC returns, specifically the 7 months Pensions Regulator deadline for Trustee Report and Accounts sign off.
·Report on all accounts in progress until completion
·Act as prime point of contact for Auditor's queries on accounts in progress
·Produce interim accounts and analyses as required
·Peer review team members' financial statements and reports for issuing
·Manage new scheme data take-on, financial accounting and treasury software upgrades
·Keep up to date on the regulatory environment including relevant Accounting Standards, Client Money Regulations together with compliance
·Comply with Corporate Policies and Procedures on reconciliations, authorisations and evidencing

Key competencies:

·Computer literate on financial and office systems
·Ability to work in a team environment and have a positive and flexible approach to the job.
·Must be dedicated to the quality, timeliness and accuracy of client servicing.
·Knowledge of SORP as revised May 2007 with an understanding of derivatives
·Attentive to detail, be highly numerate, able to prioritise and meet stringent deadlines.
