Job Description

Our Client is currently recruiting for a Senior Travel Underwriter to deal with the underwriting and administration of the Travel, Motor and Domestic accounts including associated products. The key objective will be to grow the accounts with profitable new and existing business within the requirements of the Company strategy and will involve working closely on a day to day basis with internal Business Managers, clients, intermediaries and the insurance market generally. The role will require you to assess the risks of complex insurance applications using experience and knowledge to set the terms and conditions of insurance policies. Assist with the technical review of both existing and new policy wordings and the technical content of associated literature. You will work closely with the Head of Underwriting in providing technical input, guidance and assistance with all EA (UK/Group) related product development and any ancillary benefits and/or any associated service packages considering all associated risks. Underwrite new and existing accounts within the agreed underwriting authority limits set by the Company which may be changed from time to time. The Client is looking for someone to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of travel, motor or domestic underwriting and provide flexible solutions to technical problems. To have excellent attention to detail and be able to price, analyse and write policy wordings. A sound understanding of the terminology and calculations used in determining insurance risk. Previous experience of personal lines underwriting is essential, CII qualified would be advantageous.
