Job Description
I am looking for a part qualified Accountant ACCA/CIMA with an Insurance background.
Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of results for all continental European businesses
Ensuring adequate controls are maintained and improved in respect of European products, through analysis and reconciliation of accounting information.
Responsibility for the accounting entries in respect of the European insurance business.
Development of financial reporting systems in respect of the European business.
Responsibility of production of monthly and quarterly underwriting reports in euro and sterling for each of the Continental Europe insurance branches. Reconciliation of the reports to the appropriate branch ledger.
Reconciliation of all balance sheet ledger accounts relating to the respective branches.
Review of underwriting results and identification issues to be queried with underwriters and managers.
Liaison with accounts throughout Europe to maintain and improve the financial control within the business.
Regular contact with European accountants to ensure balances between units are recorded correctly and that offset journals and cash settlements are processed in accordance with the monthly timetable.
Occasional travel to offices in continental Europe.
Participate in the maintenance of AS400 development projects including the implementation of interfaces. Development of improved reporting modules using Oracle Peoplesoft reporting tools.
