Job Description
Legal cashier job in Guildford!
The job purpose is to allocate incoming and outgoing client funds with particular responsibility for at least one group and to ensure that essential client and office funds are dealt with in an accurate and timely fashion
- Processing incoming client and office account funds
- Supporting and advising the firm's partners in connection with Law Society Accounting Rules
- Remittance of funds by cheque and electronic transfer
- Checking bank statements on a daily and monthly basis
- Dealing with internal and external telephone queries
- Placing funds on deposit
- Reviewing balances held on client account
- Other ad-hoc duties as necessary

SKILLS
- Previous legal cashiering experience is desirable but not essential
- Basic bookkeeping skills
- Good communication skills and telephone manner
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritise key tasks
- Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Elite Accounting package would be an advantage although not necessary
